As people often ask us about our equipment and the studio we are recording in here is a short overview over the main parts of our studio and our way of working.

We have our own small recording studio. Small means flexible and high efficient, with the best possible digital sound. Most of our recordings take place directly in the PC, means everything is already in digital format, no need to convert or to trick around. Nevertheless we still have a 16 Channel digital mixer with automatic faders available (Yamaha Pro Mix 01) for recording external instruments, vocal artists and singers.

The studio exists now over ten years. Our production site is directly at the border to switzerland with a very nice view at the lake of constance. Wide meadows, lush forests and the blue lake. A very inspiring location for creative working.

Why we are speaking so openly about the tools we use? Because it´s not a shame to use established libraries! There is also no secret behind our music: It´s all about the composition, the music skills and the final mix!

Sequenzer: Reaper (64 bit)/Cakewalk Sonar X1

For many years we have used the sequenzer from Cakewalk called Sonar. But over time Sonar got bigger and bigger and yes bigger. As we don´t need all the plugins, instruments and stuff coming with the Sonar installation it was time to check the market for a small, fast and efficient new tool. And yes we have found it called Reaper. A really great sequenzer developed from guys knowing the composers needs. If you want to know more check their official website: www.reaper.fm.

Meanwhile Sonar has brought a new great version of their Sequenzer Software called X1. This tool is actually the only one that has a complete 64 bit workflow and a great new interface. Of course we could not resist and also using the X1-Producer Edition in our setup. Efficient, fast and stable. www.cakewalk.com

Symphonic Libraries:

EastWest Libraries: Symphonic Orchestra, Symphonic Choirs, Stormdrums 2

Yes this is the heart of nearly all of our productions. Why EastWest? Well there are so many good libraries out there. Some more convincing some not. But if you want to have the big, fat hollywood like sound than your search ends pretty soon at the Symphonic Orchestra Libraries from EastWest. As the most known hollywood composers like Danny Elfman, Chris Beck, Joel Goldsmith, Jeff Beal or Thomas Newman rely on these libraries you can´t do too much wrong by purchasing these. Check out the EastWest Website here: www.soundsonline.com

Tonehammer
Tonehammer is a soundcompany creating stunning sampled instruments with the special punch. Troels Folmann and Mike Peaslee are the producer of the libraries. Often found in our orchestral compositions are the Forgotten Voices Serie. We also use Epic Dhol and Epic Toms for our core setup. Very convincing sampled instruments, drums and vocal artists so have a look at: www.tonehammer.com

Project SAM
One of the most breathtaking libraries of Project SAM is Symphobia. Lush Strings, Hans Zimmer Like Staccatto Ensembles and much much more you get with this library. The unique thing about this package is that not single instruments has been sampled, instead a whole orchestra section was. Very great stuff. www.projectsam.com

Ibanez RG E-Guitar - Perfect for Metal and Rock, Equiphone Black Edition E-Guitar - dropped tuning, Fender E-guitar

Yamaha ProMix 01 - digital mixer with auto faders for voice recording sessions and as digital controller

This is of course only a quick overview with picked instruments and plugins that are the core of our studio and nearly all productions. Hope to gave you an idea of how we are equipped and are working.
